take a shot

Vocals: みぃ (Mie)
Lyrics: 青時 (Seiji)
Arranged by: kaztora
Album: その日私は空を見上げた (On That Day, I Looked Up at the Sky)
Circle: 森羅万象 (Shinra-Bansho)
Event: Reitaisai 12 [RTS12]
Original theme: Retrospective Kyoto [レトロスペクティブ京都]

This is the second Seiji track from the album (the first being てのひら || Palm), and… it’s completely different to the first one. He was definitely thrown in the deep end for his debut with the circle… Arrangement-wise, kaztora’s approached this theme in a similar way to Ultra-violet, and as always, Mie delivers powerful vocals – it makes me wish she was featured more on this album…

Until I can grasp the landscape burned beneath my closed eyelids –
The start has come, now.

I had overlooked it, within these landscapes that passed by each other.
Yes – I can’t preserve this imperfect happiness in a frame.
Now, I start my battle so it will take shape, and so I can preserve it.
Without looking back, I challenge them, and I fall.
I break down inside the darkness. If I continue to hesitate, nothing will change!
I’ll stand up! Now, I’ll cross over it, towards the future.

I soar high, flapping my wings.
Beyond an endless speed – I’ll show you I can overtake it,
So I fly to the place I aimed at! I meet it, with a crack.
The end of this story – that’s something only God knows…

The hopes of I, who am polluted by this lie-filled world…
They cannot be blown away with the press of a button – an all system error.
I pick up the weapon I dropped, and I hold it to my chest. It’s just killing me!
Even words become my strength.

You follow me, I follow you. After that one trial,
My shaking heart changes my mind. Now, I fire towards the stage!

What can you see? I threw that question out. It raced through the wind.
Though everyone is different, they hide it in their chests.
If I load my cries into my soul and fire it,
Then the curtain shall fall, in a theatre full of clapping.

(Count down! Four, three, two, one, zero.
Come on! Come on! Together, we shall forget the time.)
I repeat my sadness, grief, and pain. I guess I’ve come this far now…
(And the thing that attracts me to the last,
Is the thought of catching a shutter chance in my hands.
It’s not difficult – The scene is burned
Into my memory, not just onto film.)
And the tale of what comes after this… I’ll write it myself and advance!
(My heartbeat can’t be stopped by anyone.
But many times, I go to apply my finger,
And fly away. I will never turn back again!)

New-born pride is mustered in my heart! I’ll set off at once.

I shall cut it all off – all of the warmth that remains in this lost world.
What do you mean? The answer is already inside my chest.
It’s a blessing to this amazing world!

Take a shot – I flap my wings and set off.
Beyond even the future, as well as speed – I’ll show you I can overtake them,
So I release a cry from the abyss of my soul!
All around are the sounds of the audience clapping. They do not stop.
There is only one ending to this story. Unbelievable! Only God and the player know it…

was wondering why you deleted the japanese lyrics from all of the Shinra-Bansho post?

Basically, I got into contact with their official Twitter site about translating their music, and the reply was “It’s fine for you to post translations, but just the translations.” It was the same for Liz Triangle, too. I’m planning on talking to other circle leaders about it, too, so more Japanese lyrics might be going in the future
