The mansion is turning, but it isn’t literally turning. It’s likely used in the same way as ‘the world turns’ (i.e. time passes). You can interpret it as ‘Time Passes in the Mansion.’

非公式の英訳/Unofficial translation

A new dawn has arrived. Perhaps it is the dawn of hope.
If I had something to hope for… I’d hope for it to be fine weather for laundry.

“Oh my, I’m so busy!”
I mutter those words like a song.
I work my way through my usual exhausting work.

Some things are important to spend your days well. They are:

Elegance,
Modesty
and perhaps just a little bitterness. (1)

It’s all an attitude:
One that makes my workload smaller.

Because everything that surrounds me is irrational,
Things are pretty hard.

Even so, the mansion turns.

In the face of a sudden summons,
I’m taken aback… That happens sometimes, too.

In the library, in my master’s room…
Is that an unwanted guest there, or possibly somewhere else?

As the dogs and cats wish,
I’m made to show off
but I push my way through my usual hard work.

Some things are important to spend your days well. They are:

Elegance,
Modesty
and perhaps just a little bitterness.

These are all the etiquette
of one who manages countless tasks alone.

Though the guests may be uninvited, I do not forget my hospitality.
Things are so hard, though…

Even so, the mansion dances.

I’ll become even more perfect
and I’ll become even more refined!

I shall serve my time!

Elegance,
Modesty
and perhaps just a little bitterness.

I offer these words up to my master:
“Are you in good spirits?”

Elegance,
Modesty
and perhaps just a little bitterness.

The joy of work
accompanies my daily duties.

I finished everything. I’ve done well again today.
Things are so hard, though…

Even so, the mansion turns.

Translator’s note

(1) 優美 (yuubi) and 謙遜 (kenson) in the first two lines of the chorus are sung as ‘Elegance’ and ‘Modesty’, their respective English translations. 諧謔 (kaigyaku – Joke/banter) is sung as ‘Bitterness.’

    Hi!
Your translation is almost pretty good and I often enjoy it!
However, I’m not convinced of particular part in this song, “諧謔”.
You translated it into “bitterness”, but in just my opinion, I sing it as “wittiness” usually.
Surely this is a minor term, but this term matches “諧謔”, doesn’t it? ?
I want to hear your opinion. Thanks.

Thank you for your comment (^_^)

I put ‘bitterness’ down because that’s what I heard, but I agree that ‘wittiness’ is a more accurate translation of 諧謔.

I’d be interested to read how you would write what Meramipop sings in katakana. I hear it as ビットネース, which is where I got ‘bitterness’ from. Wittiness would be something like ウイッティーネス – you can see how there’s a stress on the ‘ti’ sound, which I don’t think we get in the song. If anything, Meramipop sings something closer to ‘witness’ than ‘wittiness’.

        Sorry for late reply.
Yeah, Merami sings like ‘ウイットネス’ and I did not consider stress.
After that, I went to karaoke and checked its ruby (furigana), it says ウイットネス, though it is not official.

At this time, I have two openion.
First is that it is just a mistake by RD or merami. But I can’t believe it because RD always makes elaborate songs.
Second is that this is an INTENTIONALLY mistake by RD. He sometimes does so, such as ‘Demon Strundum’ (correctly demonstrundum, and about this there are many considerations).
I can’t imagine why he did so. Am I thinking too much?
