This song includes a lot of wordplay, particularly using the word 産む (umu, to give birth). Abuse uses a bunch of other words that sound the same but have different meanings – see if you can spot them as you listen to the song.

According to the composer, the wolf (or ‘bow-wow’ – わんわん as referred to in the video description) is called ‘Ote’ オテ.

All instances of ‘I’ in the original lyrics use 俺 (ore), which is the masculine form.

    Wow, this really packs a punch. I’ve been really into this song, and I knew it dark, but the full weight of the lyrics blindsided me. I can’t thank you enough! :’)

    Btw for 「なんで強姦ったの?」I’m not sure but I hear “nande YATTA no?” so check that once again..

      You’re welcome! Thanks for letting me know about the different pronunciation, too – I’ve checked and can confirm that ‘yatta’ is correct. It changes the meaning of the line a bit, so I added it in as a translation note.

      As a side note, the questions in those lines can also be interpreted as being aimed directly at a person (i.e. “Why’d you do that to her?”). It all depends on whether you think the speaker is talking directly to ‘God’.
