Catch me, if you can)

(oni-san kochira saa te no naru hou e
oni-san kochira saa “mou ii kai?”
oni-san kochira saa te no naru hou e
oni-san kochira saa Catch me, if you can)

(Oni, come this way. Come towards my clapping.
Oni, come this way. “Ready?”
Oni, come this way. Come towards my clapping.
Oni, come this way. Now, catch me, if you can.)

See 紅い瞳
Feel
Now set me free
To find the real

See akai hitomi
Feel minogasenai aizu
Now set me free tsubasa o hirugaeshi
To find the real nazo no kotae

See my crimson eyes.
Feel unmissable signals.
Now set me free. I flap my wings
to find the real answer to the riddle.
(1)

furuki o tazune atarashiki koto
kakichirasu no ki no muku mama imamekashi
neko nya sugiru koukishin tengu nya joujou
doko made demo oikakeru no fukaku fukaku hate naku

Something new comes from the past.
I scrawl, following my mood, and modernise it.
Curiosity that’s too much for a cat is the best for a tengu.
I’ll pursue what I seek forever, deeper and deeper without end.

aa momiji no nishiki
shirayuki sakura no kumo ni moeru wakaba no iro
yama no irodori shichihenge
tengu no uchiwa aogeba mikadzuki
suzushii kao de oshiete agemasho
karasu no himitsu yotabanashi

Ah, these are autumn’s fine clothes.
The colour of sprouting fresh leaves is upon the sakura clouds, with white snow.
The mountain’s colours are like a dance of seven changes.

Real or fake, words dance on the wind.
A tengu’s fan. When you look up, there’s a crescent moon.
I’ll tell you with an unruffled face
the crow’s secrets, which are idle gossip.
The bill is on your future self’s tab.

Come towards my clapping.

Look—these are autumn’s fine clothes.
The colour of sprouting fresh leaves is upon the sakura clouds, with white snow.
The mountain’s colours are like a dance of seven changes.
Real or fake, words dance on the wind.

(1) 正体 (shoutai, truth/identity) is written, but 答え (kotae – answer) is sung.
(2) 七変化 (shichihenge) is a type of Kabiki dance where the performer quickly changes their outfit seven times.

When I was young, I wanted to be a dinosaur when I grew up.
Now that I’m an adult, I’m just sad I didn’t become Shibayan.

    Thanks again, Releska.
