It’s interesting seeing the word モバイル (mobairu) used in a song from 2009, which was probably the time when smartphones were starting to take over the world. It’s so weird to think that there were times when you didn’t have the wealth of human experience on hand wherever you go – though when I posted this translation my mobile phone was off getting repaired so I was kind of reliving those days.
I was late to the party and got my first smartphone (a Windows Phone, one of the Nokia Lumias) in 2011. I’m pretty sure I got my first mobile phone in 2008, but it was a feature phone that couldn’t connect to the internet and I rarely answered it.
