The illness radical looks like this: 疒. Radicals are the parts that make up kanji and most kanji have at least one main radical.

Also, note the difference between the more masculine boku (I) and feminine watashi (I).

nekorobi madoronde mata yume o miru

I lie down, doze, and dream again.

A Jizo with a droopy moustache dozes on a road of red lanterns approaching the shrine.
I hopscotch up a staircase populated with stalls and hard candy.

danbukuro motta onna no ko yokome ni susumu wa kemonomichi
furubita torii o kuguttara
dareka no ohaka ga tatte iru

The girl held a cloth sack and steadfastly advanced down an animal trail.
When she passes under the old torii,
Somebody’s grave is standing right there.

hikizuru tamashii to karada ga kusatte shimau mae ni
itsumo to onaji boku wa mata yume o mita

Before the soul and body I drag along rot away,
I had a dream again, like always.

amidare mushi shite susunde kudaketa
chirabaru ano ko o atsumenakya ikenai
konagona no aka o nomikondara
boku wa ano ko to mappitotsu

She carried on without worrying about the rain and broke apart.
I’ve got to collect the pieces of her scatted around.
Once I swallow her red fragments,
I’ll be together as one with her.

sakasama no kage o otoshite etsu ni iru
kitanai neko ni wa chikadzuicha ikenai
kubi no joumon o aishite kureru
higan’e mata kage o miru

Dropping an inverted shadow, I gloat.
I mustn’t draw closer to the dirty cat.
You love the straw-rope pattern on my neck.
During Higan’e, I see shadows again.

suna tenjou mitsume neboke manako utatane watashi wa yodare mamire
yonderu tochuu no kaidan to mado wa nure sanseiame

I look at my sand ceiling with half-asleep eyes. I doze, covered in drool.
I was in the middle of reading a ghost story. Acid rain smears my window.

yure atama osae beranda ni kareki ni mizu yare sabi jouro
gusshori to nureta sodeguchi to migi no te kuwaeta koke bouzu

On the veranda, I hold my shaking head. I water the dead trees with a rusty watering can.
My sleeve was drenched along with the moss pillar held in my right hand.

mioroshita genjitsu boku no yume no naka ga soto ni atte
hoho o tsumande kuchi wa “mata yume o mita…”

I looked down upon reality and the interior of my dream was outside.
I pinch my cheek and words are upon my lips “I’ve had another dream…”

amadare no hishigata ni oitsukareta
chirabaru hito-tachi no kage dake kienai
shiroiro no hikari ga yubisashita
hito no atama ni yamaidare

I was chased down by a rhombus of raindrops.
Only the shadows of people scatted about don’t fade away.
White light pointed
at the radical for illness resting on human heads.

netanda jimen ni ashi o tsukamarete
muragaru eito ni kotaete wa ikenai
inu mo arukeba korosareru boku wa
genjitsu mata ne mata ne tte

My feet are seized by the jealous ground.
One mustn’t respond to the swarming shadowy figures.
I, who would be killed if I walked my dog,
Bid farewell to reality. Goodbye!

shita muki yajirushi sakasama uwamuki
tanoshii mama de owarereba
ii noni
me ga same tsudzuku nichijou no naka de
miorosu me wa sora o miru

A down arrow!↓ Inverted, it points up! ↑
If only things could end
while they’re still fun.
I open my eyes and continue with my daily life.
My overlooking eyes look at the sky.
