Content warning: This song makes reference to sexual assault.

This song includes a lot of wordplay, particularly using the word 産む (umu – to give birth). Abuse uses a bunch of other words that sound the same but have different meanings – see if you can spot them as you listen to the song.

According to the composer, the wolf (or ‘bow-wow’ – わんわん as referred to in the video description) is called ‘Ote’ オテ.

All instances of ‘I’ in the original lyrics use 俺 (ore), which is the masculine form.

貞操は子供の命を刺して
教会の裏で猫を殺していた
愛情が求めた母の腹では
父さんの子種が俺を産んでいた

teisou wa kodomo no inochi o sashite
kyoukai no ura de neko o koroshite ita
aijou ga motometa haha no hara de wa
tousan no kodane ga ore o unde ita

Chastity pierced the lives of children
and had killed a cat behind the church.
Within the stomach of my mother, who longed for love,
My father’s sperm yielded me.

歪に

Twisted…

吐いたってそんなもんは耐えられないから
本能を嗄らして無闇に満たした
体裁はどうにも大きくなって
生体の掟に従っていた

teisai wa dou ni mo ookiku natte
seitai no okite ni shitagatte ita

Though I vomited it out, I couldn’t bear it
so I sent my instincts hoarse and recklessly satisfied myself.
I grew bigger and bigger
abiding by the laws of living things.

It’s unintelligible. “Listen to my story.”

Why, instead of being human,
Have I assumed such a form?

貞操は子供の命に帰して
教会のミサで怪物が集まり
「お前だけじゃない」「お前だけじゃない」
そんなこととかはずっと解ってる
それでも壊れた一斉問答だ

Virtue is sent back to the child’s life.
Monsters assemble at the church mass.
“It’s not just you!” “It’s not just you!”
I knew that all along.
Still, the simultaneous dialogue was destroyed.

“I’m just hanging in there.” That may be true
but you couple, break up, and crawl around.
Even God has his killer moves,
his ways of opening up lewd figures.
But the Son of God is the Son of Man.
Whether he’s predator or prey,
the author’s already decided.

The traces of a bird taking flight, moaning and groaning.
“How filthy!” scream the ones with pure lives.

Emperor Keitai’s isolation was dreaming
yet his body had degenerated through heredity.
Without knowing which is best, it will be deception.
After all, the victims of r*** are mother and child.

in a world whose scorer has died.

Birthing and being born, birthing and being born,
birthing and being born… the cycle continues. Now—
Be born through luck, ripen and be ripened,
fester and be festered
and then die.

Why did she give birth? I guess it’s meaningless, huh?

I search for ‘a reason to live’ and sing
in a world where fools and idiots keep multiplying.
I, for some reason, am not human.
I live without knowing a reason to die.

(1) In all instances, 強姦 (goukan, r***) is sung as やった (literally meaning ‘did’). The sung version can be translated as “Why’d he do that to her?” or “Why’d he do her?” and can be used in place of the translation of the written lyrics.

Wow this song is…dark. Thanks for the translation!

Btw for 「なんで強姦ったの?」I’m not sure but I hear “nande YATTA no?” so check that once again..

You’re welcome! Thanks for letting me know about the different pronunciation, too – I’ve checked and can confirm that ‘yatta’ is correct. It changes the meaning of the line a bit, so I added it in as a translation note.

As a side note, the questions in those lines can also be interpreted as being aimed directly at a person (i.e. “Why’d you do that to her?”). It all depends on whether you think the speaker is talking directly to ‘God’.

Wow, this really packs a punch. I’ve been really into this song, and I knew it dark, but the full weight of the lyrics blindsided me. I can’t thank you enough! :’)
