This song is a retelling of the Lovecraft story of the same name. It seems to chronicle an epic quest through a world of dreams…

Translation
In my slumber, a golden metropolis comes into sight.
Guided by madness, I aim to revisit it.
All the while unaware whether this is a dream or reality.
They say nobody has returned from madness.
I aim for the agate castle where the ultimate gods reside.
Even a sombre warning from the priest, (1)
who guards the gate to dreams, cannot stop my will.
This world was born from an accumulation of dreams
had by one who sees all dreams.
I aim for the utopia burning madder red
that I once imagined.
I am given moon-tree wine by the dwellers of the forest of demons.
I exchange cups with those who return from what is forbidden.
The gods’ visages were carved into the solitary island.
Though they consort with humans, their mark will remain on their faces.
Protecting the forbidden Kadath,
the grotesques serve the faceless god.
Chaos reigns on the moon’s other side.
Crossing over time, and overcoming that distance, advance!
A faceless demon soundlessly approaches.
Its invisible bulk calmly creeps about.
Escape the valley of fear and climb the tower of darkness
and from the metropolis of light, head for the land where the descendants of gods reside.
An abominable priest dwells in the stone labyrinth
offering up sacrilegious prayers.
From the frozen wasteland, I arrive in the underground world
and when I pass through the ruins of the dead city and leap out towards that place—
Drawn by the gravitational pull, I come closer to the tall tower at the furthest ends.
The gods were nowhere to be seen, and the one crawling up was—
The gods of the Earth were imprisoned by peace.
They cast aside the castle of Kadath and left for the dream metropolis.
This world was created by a dreamer.
This town would even attract a god.
Led by the messenger of chaos, I head to the place I saw in a dream…
I head for the centre of space.
I head to where the mad god sits.
I evade the sneering insanity
and fall down into a dark abyss.
The benevolent gods show a shining path to me.
I arrive at the dream metropolis I yearned for,
crossing both time and distance.
The place I arrived at was nostalgic,
a landscape that remained in my memories from a young boy.
I head to that world once more.
I head to the town I once lived in.
