umarekawattara boku to kame ni naritai tte man’nen ikitai tte iu kedo
sonna nagaku ikitemo taikutsu na dake da to omotta boku wa machigatte ita nda
deatta hi kara mitsume atta hi aishi atta hi wa isshun datta

You say that when we’re reborn you want to be reborn as a turtle with me and live for eternity
but I thought it would be so boring to live that long. I was wrong.
From the day we met to the day we locked eyes… the day we fell in love was a moment.

doko e ikou bokura kaze ni yurari yurare ate mo nai mama ni mezashita
nani o miyou kimi to toki ni mi o yudanete umi o tada tada tadayotta

Where shall we go? We swayed gently in the wind, heading aimlessly there.
What shall we see? With you, we sometimes surrendered ourselves and just drifted in the ocean.

tooku made kita you de natsukashii you de mo aru sonna basho de bokura wa deatta
hajimete demo shitte iru oboete iru haruka tooi kioku o ikutsu mo koete
boku wa kimi o sagashite ita itsu datte kimi o sagashite ita

It seemed like we’d come a long way, yet it was nostalgic. We met at such a place.
It was the first time, yet I knew you, I remembered you. I passed through countless distant memories
and I searched for you. I had been searching for you forever.

doko e ikou bokura kaze ni yurari yurare ate mo nai mama ni mezashita
nani o miyou kimi to toki ni mi o yudanete umi o tada tada tadayotta

Where shall we go? We swayed gently in the wind, heading aimlessly there.
What shall we see? With you, we sometimes surrendered ourselves and just drifted in the ocean.

kame wa oyoku nami ni yurari yurare nanatsu no umi o koete yuku

The turtles swim gently upon the waves, crossing the seven seas.

tashikame au you ni hanarete shimawanai you ni yori soi nagara susunde yuku
nanika o umeru you ni nanika ni kizamu you ni yukkuri to umi o susunde yuku
doko e ikou bokura kaze ni yurari yurare ate mo nai mama ni mezashita

We huddle close as we advance, to be sure of each other and make sure we’re not parted.
We keep going across the ocean gently, as if burying something, as if carving something in.
Where shall we go? We swayed gently in the wind, heading aimlessly there.

So this song seems to be about two ‘souls’ in love meeting each other again and again through eternity?
So far, I don’t think I see much of a narrative through-line. Or maybe I’m thinking too literal?

Omega Rhythm, if (you mentioned in the notes) you change the word Omega in the lyrics to ‘End’ it seems to be about everything collapsing so just dance and let it happen?

I think you’re spot on with the idea of the song being about two ‘souls’ meeting again and again. It feels to me like the turtles could be a metaphor for them swimming together as they are reborn into different lives…

The idea of surrendering yourself to things also appears in the song too – they surrender themselves to the waves, just like the people in Omega Rhythm just dance and let things happen.
