yoku yume o miru nda

I often dream.

boku wa ousama de
osanai mama shiawase na kuni no
naka de mamorareteru

I am a young king
and in my happy kingdom
I am protected.

sou
zutto odayaka de
urusai hito mo mahou mo
eiyuu mo kowai kemono mo inakute
tada taikutsu na hibi

Yes.
Things are always calm.
There’s no troublesome people or magic
or heroes or scary beasts.
Every day is boring.

otona-tachi wa kuchiguchi ni iu
“kimi wa shiranakute ii koto dakara”

The adults all say the same thing:
“You don’t need to know.”

itsuka sonna otona mo
inaku natte ita

Someday, all of those adults
disappeared.

sore demo jiyuu wa nakute

Still, I wasn’t free.

sekai ga utsukushii koto nante
umareta toki kara shitteta no
kimi ga utsukushii koto nante
deau mae kara wakatteta no

The world is beautiful.
I knew that from birth.
You are beautiful.
I knew that since before we met.

demo boku ni wa tookute
nani hitotsu te ni hairanakute

Yet it was all too far from me.
I couldn’t get my hands on anything.

heya no sumi de naitetara
mata asa ga kuru no

After crying in a corner of my room
another dawn will arrive.

yume kara sameru to
sukoshi otona ni natteta

When I woke up
I grew a little more mature.

tachiagaru junbi wa dekite ita
nakama mo atsumatta

I’m ready to get back up.
I’ve gathered my companions.

“matsuri no saigo no yoru ni wa ne,
ookina hanabi o uchiageru yo”

“During the final night of the festival
I’ll launch some massive fireworks!”

yamiyo ni magirete roji o subayaku nukeru
oshiro made wa ato sukoshi

I swiftly slip through the alleyway, disappearing into the night.
Just a little longer to the castle…

nanika o kaete mitakute
kono tsurugi o te ni totta
sukoshi saki o nagametakute
rekishi no ue ni tobinotta

I took this sword in hand
wanting to change something.
I leaped atop history
wanting to see a little further ahead.

kirifuseta inochi o motte
kaidan o kakeagatteku

With slain lives in hand
I dashed up the stairwell.

eiyuu mo mahou mo nai kedo
soko made mukae ni iku kara

I have no heroes or magic
but I’ll go that far to reach you.

kono kuni wa boku-tachi o sukoshi mirai e to ayumaseru
otona e to nobotte yuku
nevaarando

This land pressed us towards the future a little
and we become adults
in Neverland.

kimi o mitsuketa yo

I found you.

sekai mo kimi no utsukushisa mo
zenbu me no mae ni atta
kimi wa kotoba o nakushite
tada naki nagara waratta

The world’s beauty and your beauty
were right there before my eyes.
You were lost for words
and you just smiled while crying.

boku wa kimi no te o totta
yoru o mata kakedashiteku

I took your hand
and raced off into the night again.

matsuri wa mada owaranai

The festival still isn’t over.

soshite
mou nido to minai yume o
shiawase no kuni de

And so,
I have a dream I won’t have again
in this land of happiness.
