According to an online dictionary, it seems that the kanji used in the title has connotations of blindness and being unsure of where you’re going. So, kind of a literal and metaphorical darkness.

UPDATE(こうしん) UPDATE(こうしん) 感情(こころ)が
伝染 感染 うまれたよ
殺されていく
みじめな思い出と
人並みの幸せも
分かち合えはしない
世界を変えるまで

宗教 宗教 ぼくらの
進行 侵攻 すすむよ
殺されていく
みじめな思い出と
人並みの望みを
体が溶けても
世界を変えるまで

Translation

Close your eyes
at once.
Don’t look at me
or you’ll be stolen away.

But if you wish,
and if you want to be at ease
then come here
to the ghost ship of hope.

Faith, faith, it’s ours. (1)
Advance, invade and keep going.
I’m being killed.
Though my body melts
my wretched memories
and ordinary desires
it continues until the world changes.

Wake up.
Experience reality
and observe
for it will be your strength.

So, I guess it’s what you wish for.
I guess you want to be at ease.
Come here
to our ghost ship.

UPDATE. UPDATE. My heart (2)
was born from contagion and infection.
It’s killed.
I cannot share
my wretched memories
and ordinary happiness
until I change the world.

Faith, faith—it’s ours.
Advance, invade and keep going.
I’m being killed.
Though my body melts
my wretched memories
and ordinary desires
it continues until the world changes.

Translator’s notes

(1) 9世主, (lit. 9th Lord) is written, but しゅうきょう and しんこう (shinkou) are sung on the first and second lines. The translation copies the last stanza, which uses the same sung words but has their corresponding kanji written down.

(2) こうしん (koushin – update) is sung in place of the English word UPDATE, and こころ (kokoro – heart) is sung in place of 感情 (kanjou – feelings).
