Translation

I call to your unconsciousness. I ignore ego and call out.
Even with your eyes shut, it’s checkmate. I’m right behind you.

I long for id, I long for you. Say it!

The bright scholar said something complicated.
Unconscious defence. I almost get it, but not quite.
I guess I didn’t want to be hated by them, others
and while you’re at it, the me inside of me.

I long for id, I long for you. Say it!

Don’t you know what you’re thinking in your heart?
It’s nothing to cry about. It’s not out of the ordinary, after all.
Even if you know what you’re thinking in your heart
your mood is far from rose-coloured. It’s a blackish blue.

I call to your unconsciousness. I ignore ego and call out.
Even with your eyes shut, it’s checkmate. I’m right behind you.

I long for id, I long for you. Say it!

God, aren’t you there? Are you an illusion after all?
It didn’t look like they were lying, but it was pretty funny.
Of course. You, over there, won’t you come to my place?
You’ll have fun times forever if you give up your human form.

I long for id, I long for you. Say it!

Can’t somebody hold out against disappearing and being erased?
It’s nothing to cry about. It’s not uncommon in Gensokyo, after all. (1)
I drift without disappearing, without being erased.
My mood is far from rose-coloured. It’s a blackish blue.

Don’t you know what you’re thinking in your heart?
It’s nothing to cry about. It’s not out of the ordinary, after all.
Laughing together without using any powers, (2)
just ordinary words, is what I miss the most.

I long for id, I long for you. Say it!

Translator’s notes

(1) ここ (koko, here) is sung instead of 幻想郷 (Gensokyo).

(2) チカラ (chikara) is sung in place of 能力 (nouryoku). Both have similar meaning in this context, though チカラ feels to me like a slightly broader term.
