単衣抜ける風　茜空は夏の街
隣座る影ふたつ　視線合わず落とす
先の金魚掬いの網をするり抜けたのは

Boku wa wasuremono aki no tonari

The wind slips through my kimono, and the summer streets are under a madder-red sky.
Two shadows sit side by side, cast without eyes meeting.
The thing that slipped through my goldfish net earlier
was a faint dream that gently melted into the water.

Blue, white, burning—the sky is so far away.

Now, summer is getting further away.
The cries of the cicadas and crowds are hidden by your silence.
The two of us, the festival, lights, shadows, ah, I hope it never ends.
In a flash of fireworks I saw your face from the side then the night fell silent.
I forgot to breathe. We’re so close to autumn.

I swim against the looping summer, which I mistook for eternity.
The one wishing for things to never change was me, in my one-woman-show.

“Sorry.”

In a dream that summer invites
my longing was burned in while shimmering like a heat haze.

Now, summer is getting further away.
Night’s curtain is dropped, while I still can’t say “see you next year.”
Alone, the festival, lights, shadows, ah, I hope it never ends.
The firework that went off last puts a stop to my racing heart, then the night falls silent.
The same summer day will never come again.
I am forgotten. We’re so close to autumn.
