Original theme: Deaf to All but the Song [もう歌しか聞こえない]
Requested by: Amilka
I would probably classify this more as an ‘interpretation’ than a ‘translation,’ since I kind of had to improvise a little when faced with archaic Japanese grammar and Chinese characters… I used some online classical Japanese dictionaries, though, so I’m hoping that my logic holds firm! At its heart, I think this song is about Mystia, who is doomed to die a fiery death. The constant references to flames make me think that Mokou is involved too, somehow. There’s also a clever ‘theme title drop’ towards the middle and end – look out for it!
But yeah, if there’s anyone out there with more knowledge of classical Japanese than me, please feel free to correct me on the romaji/translation! I’d like to learn more about this stuff…

Translation
“Left behind.”
Pessimism, without choice.
“Worn out.”
One’s life ends, bearing no fruit, though it is complete.
A voice comes from the one strangled on the noose.
Faintly, yet surely, it crawls into my earlobes.
This song echoes, crossing over. – Though it is without form –
This glorious melody tied up and stopped the heart of darkness.
I am deaf to all but the song…
“Resurrection.”
Peace, the sound of a clamp.
“Hope.”
Those features, alas, remain unseen.
Though I recite this melody repeatedly, I am alone.
Without self, I am consumed in flames and exterminated.
Time raises a cloud of ashes – bound for the ghostly sparrow –
Condolences were sung near its end.
I am deaf to even that song now…
