So, I broke my string of requests to post another translation from this album. The lyrics this time are written by Ranko [see Death by Wishful Thinking for another example of her lyrics], and they’re full of vivid imagery (especially the last stanza). I won’t spoil it, since a lot of the meaning stems from the way in which you view the song.
Also, I figured I may as well try and translate the instrumental track names, too. The title of track 1, ‘サナトリウムのための前奏曲,’ means “Overture for a Sanatorium.” The title of the 4th track, ‘行けるところまで行き、然るべき場所で死ね’ is a proverb, based on the French proverb ‘va où tu veux, meurs où tu dois.’ It means something like “Go where you can, die where you must.” The title of the final track, ‘サナトリウムのための本当の前奏曲,’ means “The True Overture for a Sanatorium.“
