A quick note about the title: treelight isn’t a ‘real’ word, but I decided to adopt it as a translation of 木漏れ日 (komorebi) after reading about it elsewhere. The traditional translation of 木漏れ日 is ‘sunlight filtering through the trees.’

Translation

In a spring garden, the treelight’s song
Allowed me to forget an uneasy night.
I smiled so I wouldn’t remember it…

That day, I dreamed that I went to the sky
Taking all of you along with me
But it was an illusion.
I cried.

The substance of my unease silently slipped away.
There have been times
When I’ve begun to move forward, even when I was troubled.

My isolation evolved
And now a gentle tomorrow sparkles in my eyes.
It’s all thanks to you…

In a spring garden, the blue sky and the wind
Allowed me to forget those uneasy days.
Unable to remember,
I sang.
