A note about 新約 (shin’yaku): it literally means ‘new promise,’ and can be seen as a contracted form of 新約聖書 (shin’yaku seisho), which refers to the Bible’s New Testament.

Translation

The shining street continues forever.
The twinkling starry sky sets the scene.
Something historic is disappearing.
It contains no writhing malice. The people’s premonitions
and the records of prosperous politicians may fade,
but their surging desire made this world.
Glistening feelings will live forever.
The birds fly into infinity.

I’ll definitely get it, though I don’t know what it means.
I can definitely see it. I’ll believe until I tire of it.

When I dream, all I hit is the moon.
I look deep into my heart but all I see is darkness.

The twinkling starry sky sets the scene.
It contains no writhing malice. The people’s premonitions
and the records of prosperous politicians may fade,
but their glistening feelings will live forever.

I’ll definitely get it, though I don’t know what it means.
I can definitely see it. I’ll believe until I tire of it.

The eye-capturing line doesn’t fit with reality.
Walking the battlefield in heels? There’s no way I know that song.

I’ll definitely get it, though I don’t know what it means.
I can definitely see it. I’ll believe until I tire of it.

The shining street continues forever.
Something historic is disappearing.
Their surging desire made this world.
The birds fly into infinity.

I’ll have it forever, though I don’t know it’s intentions.
I’ll watch it forever. I only believe in these streets.

    Hi
I wonder about this line “退屈だけ信じて”. I often see this “Aだけ信じて” in other anime songs (like believe – one piece) and everytime it’s translated as “only believe in A”. Should “退屈だけ信じて” be translated that way, or there is other reason for your translation decision?

Hi! Thanks for your comment. That line was one that went through several redrafts while I was translating the song.

As you suggest, my initial thought was to translate it as ‘I only believe in boredom.’ I decided not to go with that because I looked at the rest of the stanza and judged that such a translation wouldn’t fit.

I then searched to see if the exact same phrase is used elsewhere, and found that it only appears in this song. That made me wonder if there were any similar phrases – that led me to 好きなだけ or ‘as much as you want.’ What if this line is meant to be seen as 退屈なだけ信じて? I may have gone too far, but that’s what led me to translate it as ‘I’ll believe until I tire of it.’

If 退屈 couldn’t be used as an adjective I wouldn’t have made that extra leap.

btw i found that you may mistook in line 7 and line 16, in the booklet, it is 煙めく感情が

Hi! You’re very welcome – I love both circles so it’s always a pleasure to translate their lyrics.

I’ve double-checked the booklet and I think 煌 is the correct kanji. You’ll see that the part in the top right is slightly different in 煙 and doesn’t match what’s in the booklet. They definitely look similar though…

Ah, the part i found wrong is “は”, it’s “が”, the kanji is my mistake but it’s not the part i talking about 😀
