Translation
I was covered in false images, just like God.
You youkai give me the creeps
pretending to know how I really feel.
Even if I grasped something and used it to destroy the illusion
and cool my feelings, it would be sheer stupidity.
I won’t pay attention to small fry.
For one such as I, affecting composure, to speak
is because I become angry easily, watching hawk-like for my chance.
I summoned the spring storm and then cried. My heart was wounded.
“That’s a sign of vanity, you know?” (1)
Whatever you say. I already get it, though.
My breaths will surely grow smoky too and appear on the things blocking my view.
They say that praying to be loved
is a sin. It has such a sweet scent.
Once we drink up the rippling cider, let’s say goodbye. (2)
My thoughts have dried up. Where’s God in that?
My rage and other such things vanished long ago
but though I perform my act, I’m ignorant.
Still, this story is still going
because I wish for it to reach you,
listening constantly.
I pledged a ceasefire. My personality peeled off and fell
because I have the courage to accept disappointment.
I summoned the spring storm and then cried. My heart was wounded.
“That’s a sign of vanity, you know?”
Whatever you say. I already get it, though.
My breaths will surely grow smoky too and appear on the things blocking my view.
They say that praying to be loved
is a sin. It has such a sweet scent.

My breaths will surely grow smoky too and appear on the things blocking my view.
They say that praying to be loved
is a sin. It has such a sweet scent.
Once we drink up the rippling cider, let’s say goodbye.
I summoned you on purpose. I died—my heart rotted to nothing.
“That’s a sign of vanity, you know?”
Whatever you say. I already get it, though.
I called you an idiot. Like smoke, you made me uncomfortable. I looked at you and woke up. (3)
They say that praying to be loved
is a sin. It has such a sweet scent.
Once we drink up the rippling cider, let’s say goodbye.
We’ll say goodbye and if we fall in love again, let’s smile together.
Translator’s notes
(1) This line has been interpreted as a quotation due to how it is presented in the video.
(2) 炭酸 (tansan – carbonated water) is written and サイダー (saidaa – cider) is sung. ‘Cider’ in Japanese doesn’t commonly refer to the traditional sparkling apple cider, and can in fact refer to what some people call ‘lemonade,’ ‘carbonated water,’ or ‘soda pop’.
(3) ‘Like smoke’ was included to preserve the dual meaning of 煙たがる (kemutagaru), which is used to indicate when you think an environment is smoky, as well as when the presence of someone is a nuisance or makes you feel more formal/uncomfortable.
