Translation
Rain spilled over
from the sky’s shallows, binding the scarlet moon’s shadow.
It falls on the budding sprouts.
A crimson flower blooms in the water’s reflection.
The crows sing a pure song in a world that turns to night.
It depicts withering leaves, the season of new feathers changing colour, and that place.
The waves overwhelm the sounds of the moon
and even the depths of the stagnant lake.
To the reign of gods deep in the mountain,
I offer night-viewing flowers. I enjoy a butterfly dream.
The mottled clouds colour the trash
while woven in many layers and bundled up.
The blue sky mists over and turns dull
and dark flowers drift between the waves.
My endless rage returns to the night. It does not come to fruition.
All that is left behind is a single chime of a bell.
An arc of light, the revolution of the sun and moon, wavers in the sky.
Colours waver on the water of a distant river on a misty, moonlit night.
The waves overwhelm the sounds of the moon.
When I exorcise those that writhe in the night
I ask them to copy the stillness of a relaxed heart on their blank porcelain.
I beg the still water to remain so forever.
