Judgement is Laid Down Before Humanity

Vocals: Fuki
Lyrics: Fuki
Arranged by: yuki
Album: REBIRTH [Official site]
Circle: Unlucky Morpheus
Event: Reitaisai 6 [RTS6]
Original theme: Faith is for the Transient People
[信仰は儚き人間の為に]

Requested by: Runixzan

The title follows the same structure as the original theme’s title. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come across as effectively in English…

I have a feeling that the speaker is comparing themselves to the divine wind. Because of this, I kept those particular sections ambiguous. For example, see “The divine wind no longer blows for the sake of humans, // Passing through this lake for the sake of illusions.” The subject of the second line could either be [the wind] or [I] depending on how you interpret it.

Cross the times, without fail – Revive Faith.

Translation

Memories of the wind and earth, abandoned,
Sink into the ancient sea.
The desires I scooped out with both hands
No longer have anywhere to go.

Those eyes, clouded with my blood,
Burn due to the malevolent god’s miracle.

The sun embraces the moon and the stars burn the dawn.
If you don’t believe, I can’t save you.
The divine wind no longer blows for the sake of humans,
Passing through this lake for the sake of illusions.

The nostalgic landscape from those days
Has vanished beneath the ashen ground
Through the paddles of the cowardly generation that came after.
The sinners are unaware of their crimes.

O body of mine, which bore a lost oracle!
I cannot forget the traces of those foolish humans.

The water freezes, and a path forms on the sea.
If I cannot protect them, I shall leave!
I can never return to the village of traitors.
My creed is to wander, seeking something.

O body of mine, which bore a lost oracle!
Ride upon the wind through the miracle of the gods.

The sun embraces the moon and the stars burn the dawn.
If you don’t believe, I won’t save you.
The divine wind no longer blows for the sake of humans,
Traversing this fantasy for my own sake.

Cross the times, without fail – Revive Faith.

There is a line the wiki omitted that you’d probably want to add. I had to find the scans to confirm this.
At the very end there is a English sentence which goes:
“Cross the times, without fail – Revive Faith.”

And whilst subbing this video, I noticed that in the very first line “inishie no suitei ni shizumu” it’s sung like “Inishie no minasoko ni shizumu”

In the fourth stansa (Is that what it’s called?), second line “灰色の地(つち)の下に消えた” they annunciate the “tsu” sound, which you might want to update.

Also I don’t know if it’s worth mentioning but this is the Revisited version I’m working on.

The entire line “灰色の地の下に消えた” is sung like “hai’iro no tsu chi no shita ni kieta”, not “hai’iro no chi no moto ni kieta” as you put it.

So in the very last line “私の為にこの幻想を往く” the “この” is omitted both from the scan (http://i.imgur.com/04NH38S.jpg) and the vocals. No idea why the wiki put it there.

There’s a tiny spelling mistake in the line “toganin was ono tsumi ni kidzukazu”.
I’m assuming it’s supposed to be “toganin wa sono tsumi ni kidzukazu”

In the line “咎人はその罪に気付かず”, the “咎人” is sung as “Togabito” not “toganin”. I don’t know if this changes the the meaning of the line though.

It looks like I can edit comments, so I just moved them all into one…!
Thanks for pointing that stuff out – I went through and corrected it, so it should be all correct now. I thought I listened to the track to double-check the romanisation, but I mustn’t have done that this time >_> Sorry about that!

I should add that in the last stanza it’s 救わない instead of 救えない, with the relevant significance.

Regardless, more UM translations are always welcome!
