meguru toki utsurou keshiki sukoshi zutsu
hana wa saki iro o matoi kareteku

Time passes and the seasons shift, little by little.
Flowers bloom, are clad in their colours, then wither.

hitori kiri susumu tokei no hari wa mata hitomawari
ima mo mata kodoku ni yurarete nemuru

The clock’s hands make another round alone, cleaving through.
Today, once again, I am shaken by loneliness and sleep.

Only important memories remain in my heart.
In my palm is a warm flower that dyes me.
Though they wane, they do not wax. Though they freeze, they don’t melt. Even the droplets dancing and falling in my mind—
The sky is simply high. The moon is simply pure. Hazy clouds rest at my outstretched fingertips.

yami no naka de haruka nobiru owaranai tabiji no tochuu
garasu-goshi no kimi no hitomi waraigoe ni sukuwareta kara

I’m in the middle of an endless journey that stretches into the distance in the dark
because I was saved by your eyes and smile from beyond the glass.

kakeru toki utsurou keshiki mata sukoshi
hito wa iki warabe wa umare tsudzuku

Time races and the seasons shift a little more.
People live, children are born, and it continues.

meguru sunadokei ikudo ikutabi taeru koto naku
tada hitori kodoku ni dakare madoromu

The sand clock turns, time and time again, endlessly.
All alone, I slumber enveloped by isolation.

hajimaru asa owaru yoru aruki tsudzuke
nigirishimeta tenohira ni mou kare ochita hanabira

The morning begins and the night ends. Keep walking.
In my clenched fist were petals that had already withered and fallen.

mugonri tsudzukeru michishirube no you ni tsubuyaku kotoba wa sora ni kie
ayaori no hibi to owaranai yume ga furueru kokoro o dakishimeta

Like a taciturn signpost, whispered words disappear into the sky.
The twills of days and an endless dream held my trembling heart tight.

hoho o nurasu namida dake wa tsuyu ni kieru to iu noni
watashi wa mada hitori kiri no asu e susumu

They say that only the tears that wet my cheeks will vanish into dew
yet I still advance towards tomorrow alone.

koikogareta ano hi no kage sore ga yume da to shitemo
tooku tooku dareka o yobu natsukashii koe ni furimuki

I longed for the shadow of that day, even if it’s just a dream.
I look over at a nostalgic voice calling to someone in the far distance.

ima meguru toki utsurou keshiki sukoshi zutsu
hana wa saki iro o matoi karetemo

Now, time passes and the seasons shift, little by little
though flowers bloom, are clad in their colours, then wither.

mebuku hitohira no hakanaku moroi tsubomi o mune ni
katari tsugu kako to kawaranai ima o

I hold a single bud, fleeting and brittle, close to my heart.
I pass down my tale of the past and an unchanging future. (1)

(1) 未来 (mirai – future) is written, but 今 (ima – present) is sung.
