Update (25 September 2021): Minor corrections to romanisation. Thanks Tackmyn!

The title is a play on the suffix XXしい, which appears regularly in the song (e.g. 若々しい, wakawakashii – youthful). The title is pronounced ‘tamatamashii’, which could be linked to 魂 (tamashii – soul)

Translation

This is the chic Shinigami’s pure rose.
They stir up the city’s order.
Though “there’s nothing to report”
their potential bends forward respectfully.

They misread earnestness (How annoying.)
and their theory is to hurry and lessen the gap (How narrow-minded.)
Your former sensitivity doesn’t suit you (It’s endless.)
Ariadne is on the chopping block.

Will it end when we sound each other out?

How sinister, how rude.
What on Earth can I do?
How youthful, how overly familiar.
They came calling while acting all holy.
How unpleasant, how lively.
Oh, it’s too great an honour!
How annoying, how terrible.
One, two, three… how OO!

With regret still boiling inside
the young warrior sheathes their sword.
“I wanna say it, I really do,
but I won’t.”
Ah, the wise dead won’t steal their life away.

Now, they tame the larva that move their heart
and act proud, misusing the authority of these immoral times.
Ah, how loathsome I am.

(At all times and places)
How uninterested, how shallow.
It doesn’t matter what I say to anyone.
How wild, how pathetic.
I’m worthless, drunk on a side of me nobody knows.

How OO, how OO.
It doesn’t matter what they did to me.
How OO, how OO,
1, 2, 3, OOOO!

How sinister, how rude.
It doesn’t matter what they do with me.
How rash, how bleak.
They’ve got the status of a Shinigami acting like a normal person.
How unpleasant, how lively.
When you look at them up close, they’re so funny.
How annoying. I’d rather it be refreshing.
It won’t end with one, two, three.
Why is the eccentric so OO?

    Excellent translation!
I think 道程 has pronounced as どうてい. Could you check, please?

Thank you! I went back and listened and you’re right – it’s pronounced どうてい. I’ve updated the romanisation.

Absolutely fantastic song and translation. Had it not been for your translation, I couldn’t have come across the song. Excellent!

    Just a couple of notes…

    – 以前感度は合わない(止め処なし): いぜん is written as 以前 in the description while it’s 依然 in the music video, and 依然 makes more sense to me. I think it’s just a typo done by the producer. I’ve already left a comment about the problem in the official video’s comment section, hopefully they’ll notice soon.

    – I’m nitpicking, but 煎ずる should be “senzuru,” I guess?

    – 淡々しい seems to be “awaawashii.” Honestly I’ve never heard of this word, though…

Thanks for your kind words! That’s one of the parts I love the most about taking on requests – coming across music I wouldn’t have otherwise discovered!

Thanks also for your comments on the romanisation, which I’ve updated (^_^) I’ve followed your blog and am really looking forward to reading more of your translations!

        Thank you, too!

Oh, you surprised me! I’m a little nervous now haha… Thanks for that too, anyways. In case you find some unnatural wordings in my translations, don’t hesitate to let me know!

Wow! I wish I knew what else to say other than “thank you!” I haven’t heard this before I saw your translation, and I’ve had it stuck in my head ever since. Thanks as always!

You’re welcome! I’m in the same boat – I hadn’t listened to the song before translating it and now the chorus is in my head. This track deserves more attention…!
