1,2!

Translation

1, 2!
You can’t regret times that have passed by
since you can’t go back.
3, 4!
When you ride the rhythm, “something good will happen before long.”
That’s just right, isn’t it?

You fall forward and into a heap. You can’t walk well today…
Do you feel like these days will last forever?
If you get fed up with everything in such despair,
Won’t you play some music with me?

Now, raise your hands and leap off with your legs.
You don’t need to pretend to be someone else—it’s your rhythm!
You’ll be fine if you just throw away the past. It won’t come back.
Next time you look back, you’ll be laughing and talking about it.
Until then, let’s ring out these days with our sounds.

Which one? Which path makes you think
so seriously?
Mi, fa! You always look down, but the answer isn’t dropped anywhere,
So look at me for a bit…

If it’s too tall or too short it always gets painful,
so you search for something ‘life-sized.’ Still, it’s difficult.
If that’s the case, won’t you sing with me?
If we’re together, we’ll definitely find it.

Now, raise your voice! Let me hear it from you!
You don’t need anyone’s sympathy. If it’s your voice…
Put off numbers that won’t change anymore!
No matter what you choose, you’ll have regrets
so let’s sing a melody now, one that’s yours alone!

You stumble to a halt when faced with the world, like staves covered with codes.
The stage remains unchanged, and nobody applauds.
You should just say farewell to such a dull past.
Let’s make some new sounds together!

Now, raise your hands and leap off with your legs.
You don’t need to pretend to be someone else—it’s your rhythm!
You’ll be fine if you just throw away the past. It won’t come back.
Next time you look back, you’ll be laughing and talking about it.
Let’s ring out the times from the past with our melody.

  1. Hello,
    Thank you for your translation.

The lyrics sheet and 藤宮ゆき says “もたったりして”.
I didn’t know もたる. It seems to mean the same as もたれる.

    > Won’t you come and talk to me about it?
I translate it to “Won’t you make sounds with me?” or “Won’t you play music with me”?
“合わせる” basically means “to put something together”. As for what is not written here. I suppose it is as for sounds judging from the next stanza and the original music “幽霊楽団 ~ Phantom Ensemble”.
Maybe you misread it as “会わせる”.

    > Let’s ring out the times from the past with our sounds.
I translate it to “Let’s ring out these days until then with our sounds.”.
I could translate in your way if it went “それまでの今日を”.

    > Which one? Which path will make it hard
    > for me to think of you?
I translate it to “Which one? Which path makes you
    think too seriously?”.
I think in this song who has difficulties is consistently “キミ”.

    > If that’s the case, won’t you face me and sing?
I translate it to “If that’s the case, won’t you sing with me?”.

    > You stumble to a halt when faced with the staves, like midnight, covered with codes.
I wonder from where “like midnight” comes.

    1. Thank you for your feedback (^_^) I didn’t know もたる either, and it was interesting to learn more about 合わせる.

I got ‘like midnight’ because it seems like 五線譜 is sung as よのなか and I immediately though 夜中. It probably should be understood as 世の中 so I changed it
